Plan Cartoon Definition

Plan drawings are specific drawings architects use to illustrate a building or portion of a building. A program is drawn from a horizontal plane looking downwardly from in a higher place. This is as if you sliced through a space horizontally and stood over looking downwardly on information technology. Plans are a common design drawing and technical architectural or applied science convention for graphic representation of compages. With the exception of plan perspectives, plan drawings are orthographic projections. This means they are non fatigued in perspective and there is no foreshortening.

There are different types of plan drawings:

  • Plan
  • Plan Callout or Blow Up Plan
  • Programme Detail
  • Site Plan
  • Roof Plan
  • Reflected Ceiling Program or RCP
  • Plan Perspective

Plan Drawings

A plan cartoon shows a view from above. This is frequently used to depict the layout of a building, showing locations of rooms and windows, walls, doors, stairs etc. Although plan drawings can be drawn from above, they are ofttimes drawn cutting through the building with horizontal airplane. The plan is typically cutting at a height of about iv anxiety, but the architect cartoon the plan may cut it at a dissimilar summit. This means that you have an imaginary plane cut through the building at an acme of 4 feet above the floor. Therefore, you see in the cut annihilation that the plane passes through.

Plan Callouts

Another common architectural convention is the employ of program callouts. A callout is an area within the plan that is drawn at a larger scale. For example, if I have a floor plan at 1/4″ = 1′-0″ scale of a house, I might have a callout of the kitchen and bathrooms, showing them at i/two″ = ane′-0″ calibration. Half inch scale is twice equally large as quarter inch scale.

Plan Details

Details in architectural drawings are large scale drawings that typically evidence how something is congenital. Details identify all the materials and connections for structure. Details are usually 3/4″ = 1′-0″ or larger. Plan details are drawn in a plan view at a big scale to show the structure.

Site Program

A site plan may or may not be drawn cut through the building. A site plan is going to show more simply the building, including the entire site the building is located on. This can show the property lines, the edifice location, utilities, roads, landscape etc. A site plan will most typically exist drawn from above the building, as if showing a roof programme of the building within the site plan. Sometimes the site plan can exist drawn as a start flooring plan being cut through the beginning flooring. This is done to show the human relationship from the exterior of the building to the interior archway.

Roof Plan

A Roof Plan is a plan of a building or house that is not cutting through the building but drawn from above. This shows everything on meridian of the building including the roof layout, stair bulkheads, parapets, and potentially roof equipment.

Reflected Ceiling Program (RCP)

A Reflected Ceiling Plan is a plan of the ceiling within a space. This is fatigued looking down as if there is a mirror on the floor reflecting the ceiling. The reflected ceiling plan is ofttimes referred to equally an RCP. This architectural drawing will bear witness things lite lighting, structure, ceiling heights, soffits, etc…. When I was in my outset semester of architecture schoolhouse the RCP was the hardest drawing for me to sympathize but information technology makes perfect sense once y'all become it.

Plan Perspectives

A plan perspective is a drawing of a program just shown in perspective. This is more of a design drawing meant to show what the infinite is going to await like and less how the space will be built.

Elevation Cartoon Definition

Summit drawings are a specific type of drawing architects utilise to illustrate a edifice or portion of a building. An Height is fatigued from a vertical plane looking directly on to a building facade or interior surface. This is as if you directly in front of a building and looked straight at it. Elevations are a mutual pattern drawing and technical architectural or engineering convention for graphic representation of compages. Elevation drawings are orthographic projections. This means they are not drawn in perspective and there is no foreshortening.

There are different types of Meridian Drawings:

  • Elevation
  • Interior Acme
  • Peak Telephone call Out
  • Tiptop Detail

Section Cartoon Definition

Department drawings are a specific blazon of drawing architects apply to illustrate a edifice or portion of a building. A section is fatigued from a vertical plane slicing through a building. This is every bit if you cut through a space vertically and stood directly in front looking directly at it. Sections are a common blueprint drawing and technical architectural or engineering science convention for graphic representation of architecture. Section drawings are orthographic projections (with the exception of section perspectives). This means they are non fatigued in perspective and there is no foreshortening.
